I went to the shrimp farm and I had fun.I ate shrimp gumbo and burgers.I even got a chance to get on TV. Mr. Jackson gets salt water from the Eutaw-Gordo aquifer and it goes into the pond.We picked up some of the shrimp and talked about them.
shunderrick- The field trip to the shrimp farm was a wonderful learning experience. We learned about the way they process the shrimp and where the salt water comes from. The water comes from the Eutaw Gordo aquifer. Mr. Jackson talked about the way you raise shrimp to make a living.
B.B-When we went to the shrimp farm, it was very fun!I learned that Mr.Jackson raises shrimp for a business. We watched them pick shrimp out of the pond. We even ate Shrimp Gumbo and hambugers.
D.R. When we went on a field trip to the Jackson Shrimp Farm, we relearned about the things we had heard about the last time we went and a lot more. One of the things we learned about is how the salt water gets there. I also learned that it gets there through the Eutaw-Gordo Aquifer.
We had a great time visiting the Jackson Bay Boy Shrimp Farm. Seeing salt water shrimp being raised in central Alabama is quite amazing! Mr. Jackson, with his entrepreneurial spirit, is a wonderful asset to our county and a model for our students. We all learned a lot, ate some delicious shrimp gumbo, and enjoyed ourselves. Thanks, Mr. Jackson! Mrs. Westmoreland
